Carbonated Beverages and Bone Health

Consuming Sparkling Beverages (Carbonated Drinks) will not make or cause brittle bones of osteoporosis. The main causes of bone fragility is because they do not consume enough calcium in your diet, (especially at a young age), changes in female hormones and lack of physical activity.
Many people think of bone fragility due to the high content of the element phosphorus (from phosphoric acid contained in cola drinks) or too much caffeine in the body system can cause our bodies are unable to absorb calcium. However, experts have been put through a lot of research on this subject, and they concluded that all was not true.

In 1994, U.S. National Institute of Health (NIH) gathered experts osteoporosis and bone health at a conference on optimal calcium absorption. Their report states "have never found evidence that may affect the absorption of calcium phosphate or calcium removal significantly."
American Medical Association analyzed the statements of the experts are and conclude that the influence of phosphate on calcium absorption "very minor in physiology".
In 1997, U.S. National Academy of Medical Science analyze scientific data on phosphorus and found no negative effect on calcium absorption. In conclusion, there is no rational basis for linking the amount of calcium consumed by the amount of phosphorus that all age groups.
In 2000, the NIH Consensus Development Conference on osteoporosis confirmed that consumes phosphorus / caffeine is not a causative factor of osteoporosis for people who undergo a balanced diet.
In 2004, Report of the United States Surgeon General on bone health and Osteoporosis (. S. Surgeon General's Report on Bone Health and Osteoporosis) have analyzed a number of scientific data related to growing concerns about the presence of calcium and phosphorus. There also were reports the finding that nothing can affect bone health for people who consume adequate amounts of calcium.
In fact, soft drinks contain phosphorus in only very small amounts contained in phosphoric acid, which is a flavoring ingredient in cola drinks bite. The average amount of phosphorus that can be consumed in accordance with the recommendations set by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine is 1,000 milligrams. In the packaging of Coca-Cola 240 milliliter contained 41 milligrams of phosphorus in the packaging of orange juice while the same size, there are 27 milligrams.Phosphorus is a mineral that can be found naturally and is an essential nutrient for all living things. Phosphorus plays an important role in energy metabolism in the body and is a component of bones and teeth. Compared with other sources of phosphorus from food, soft drinks provide about two percent of the total phosphorus is recommended to be consumed in America. While high-protein foods like meat, cheese, nuts and seeds supply about 98% phosphorus.
